'Mamata jealous ...': Cong's Adhir Ranjan says CM's claims on Niti Aayog meet 'lies' | India News

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Saturday raised questions over West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s claims that her microphone was muted during the 9th Governing Council Meeting of the Niti Aayog, and accused her of “lying“.
“The things that Mamata Banerjee is saying regarding NITI Aayog meeting, I feel like she is lying …it is very surprising if a state’s chief minister would not be allowed to speak. Mamata Banerjee knew what would be happening there … she had the script .. she knew what was going to happen in the meeting,” said Chowdhury.
The Congress leader also accused the INDIA bloc ally of being ‘jealous’ of Rahul Gandhi for the importance he has been getting in national politics.
“I think that today, the way Rahul Gandhi appears as a leader of the opposition in all of India, and the way common people of India have faith in Rahul Gandhi, it has started to create jealousy in her mind,” he claimed.
“Mamata Banerjee’s jealousy seems to have increased excessively,” he added.
Earlier today, Mamata walked out of the Niti Aayog meeting midway and accused the central government of “insulting” her deliberately by not providing enough time to talk.
Centre rebuffed her claims that the microphone was muted during the 9th Governing Council Meeting of Niti Aayog and called it “misleading.”
