Elon Musk to TOI Plus: I was always nuts | India News

Twitter’s increasingly unpredictable owner seems on course to set a record for the number of tweets he fires off daily. What’s behind this seemingly crazy behaviour?
By now, it’s unlikely that anyone in the literate world has not read something about Elon Musk’s antics on his latest possession, Twitter. Whether it’s cutting costs by firing close to half the workforce (and then inviting some of them back) or bargaining with author Stephen King about how much a blue tick should cost, or taking on US politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, he’s been indefatigable.
In a recent piece reproduced by TOI+, The New York Times tried to analyse what’s behind Musk’s tweeting spree. Musk is under tremendous scrutiny 11 days after completing his $44bn deal for Twitter, which was the largest leveraged buyout of a technology company in history. On Friday, November 5, he cut roughly 3,700 of the company’s 7,500 employees, saying he had no choice because Twitter was losing $4mn a day. At the same time, he has found himself embroiled in the same content debates that have plagued other social media companies, including how to give people a way to speak out without spreading misinformation and toxic speech.
We asked ‘Has Musk gone crazy since taking over Twitter?’, and in reply, Musk said that he’s always been nuts.

Here’s what triggered the Twitter owner into saying that: Has Musk Gone Crazy Since Taking Over Twitter
