In a video tweeted by Shastri himself, he can be heard narrating the scenes at the Lusail Stadium when Argentina were awarded a penalty and Lionel Messi stepped up to convert it from the spot and put his team ahead 1-0.

Messi went on to win the ultimate prize in his fifth World Cup appearance but only after France came agonisingly close to defending the title by first equalising 2-2 in regulation time and then 3-3 in extra time courtesy a Kylian Mbappe hat-trick.
Argentina then won the match 4-2 on penalties.
Mbappe ended up winning the ‘Golden Boot’ for most goals in the tournament (8), while Messi won the ‘Golden Ball’ for ‘Player of the Tournament’, becoming the first player, since the ‘Golden Ball’ award was first instituted in 1982, to win it twice.
He had earlier won the ‘Golden Ball’ award in the 2014 edition, when Argentina lost to Germany in the final.
