Seven people injured in twin blasts in Jammu's Narwal | Jammu News

JAMMU: At least seven civilians were injured in twin blasts in Narwal area of Jammu district on Saturday.
The incident comes ahead of the Republic Day, and the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra which entered Jammu & Kashmir on January 19.
“Two blasts took place from two different vehicles at Transport Yard in Narwal around 11.20am in the outskirt of the city, some 5 kms from main township,” said police.

“Initially, six person were injured,’ police said, adding, “the injured have been taken to the government medical college and hospital (GMC&H) Jammu.”
Sources identified the seven injured as Sohail Kumar (35) of Ustaad Mohalla Jammu; Sushil Kumar (26) of Prem Nagar Doda; Vishap Partap (25) of Kanachak Jammu; Vinod Kumar (52) of Chak Baktawar RS Pura; Arun Kumar (25) of Qasim Nagar Jammu; Amit Kumar (40) of Bahu Fort Jammu and Rajesh Kumar (35) of Bahu Fort Jammu.
Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned-off and senior police officers have been rushed to the spot. Forensic teams are also at the spot to investigate the matter.
Besides, massive searches have been launched in the area, while security has been beefed up with special checkpoints been set up on different routes connecing the area.
