Aparna Kanekar played the role of Janaki Baa in the popular show Saath Nibhana Saathiya.

Actress Aparna Kanekar, who played the role of Janaki Baa in the popular show Saath Nibhana Saathiya, passed away. Lovey Sasan, who played Paridhi in the show, revealed the same while speaking to Indian Express and shared that Aparna wasn’t keeping well for a long time. She mentioned that the senior actress was on a liquid diet and was rushed to the hospital on Friday, November 3 after her condition deteriorated. That’s where Aparna breathed her last.

Later on Saturday, Lovey also took to her Instagram handle and penned down an emotional note. She paid tribute to Aparna and called her the ‘most beautiful, strongest’ individual.

“My heart is very heavy today as I learned the passing of someone very dear to me & a true warrior. Baa you were one of the most beautiful strongest individuals I know inside and out. I am truly blessed for the unforgettable times we were able to share on set and the once-in-lifetime connections we made. Rest in peace my cutie Baa. You are so loved and so so missed. Your legacy will live on,” she wrote alongside a throwback photo of herself with Aparna. Check out the post here:

Soon after the post was shared, Aparna Kanekar’s co-star Kajal Pisal reacted to it and wrote, “Om Shanti”, while Tanya Sharma commented, “RIP.” Several other fans also expressed grief and paid tribute to the veteran actress.

Saath Nibhana Saathiya premiered on Star Plus in May 2010. Prior to Aparna Kanekar, Jyotsna Karyekar used to play the role of Janaki Baa in the show. Kanekar joined the show in 2011 and continued for five years. The show, which starred Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Mohammad Nazim, Rucha Hasabnis, and Vishal Singh in the lead went off-air in 2017. It later returned with season two.
