The Twenty20 sensation scored an unbeaten 112 off 51 balls to fire India to 228-5 in the third and deciding match against Sri Lanka on January 7, 2023. India lost wickets inside six overs after they elected to bat first but Suryakumar and Shubman Gill (46) put on 111 runs to lay the foundations for the challenging total. Aside from showing impressive consistency in T2OIs, the manner in which he plays his shots is nothing short of jaw-dropping. The latest century in Rajkot was the batter’s third of his T20I career that began in March 2021. Often referred to as ‘Mr 360,’ for his ability to play all around the ground, Suryakumar with his stunning century became World No.1 T20 batter in the official ICC rankings. Meanwhile, Saturday’s victory came after India won the first T2O by two runs, while the second game was won by Sri Lanka by 16 runs. The teams will next face each other in three one-day internationals.
