After reports surfaced claiming that television actors Aashish Mehrotra and Nidhi Shah are in a relationship, Nidhi took to her official Instagram account to set the record straight. She clarified that the rumors are false. Both Aashish and Nidhi portray the roles of a married couple on the popular daily soap opera Anupamaa, with Rupali Ganguly in the lead role.
In her Instagram story, Nidhi addressed her well-wishers and the media, stating, “There have been recent rumors about me and my co-actor circulating in the news. The information is inaccurate. I urge everyone to verify with us or seek confirmation before making assumptions.”
Nidhi further told a news portal that there is no romantic involvement between her and Aashish. She explained to Hindustan Times, “The rumors are baseless. Some of us co-stars went out for dinner and spent some leisure time together. During this outing, we took a playful picture as we portray a couple on screen. Our off-screen relationship is purely platonic; we are simply good friends.”
Recently, the actors stirred up social media by sharing romantic photos from what appeared to be a private date night. Aashish posted images on Instagram where Nidhi is leaning on his lap while he embraces her. The caption, “PRIVATE DATE NIGHT IN PUBLIC… Together we look like?” sparked speculation among their followers.
Following a flood of comments from fans suggesting they should consider a real-life relationship, Aashish amended his caption to clarify their platonic bond. He wrote, “WE ARE NOT DATING GUYS….. Chill karo… ……Together we look like?”
Aashish and Nidhi have been a part of the cast of Anupamaa since its initiation in 2020. Aashish portrays the role of Anupamaa’s son, and Nidhi plays his character’s wife, a strong and progressive woman.
