The Karamveer special episode of the quiz show featured Dr Abhay Bang and his wife Dr Rani, known for their work in healthcare for tribal communities in Maharashtra.
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, currently hosting the 16th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, had the audience in stitches during a recent episode when he humorously confessed to his lack of cooking skills. The light-hearted moment occurred during the Karamveer special episode after contestant Naman’s exit. Taking the hot seat were Dr Abhay Bang and his wife Dr Rani Bang, known for their work in healthcare for tribal communities in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra.
A video showcasing the couple’s inspiring efforts, for which they received the prestigious Padma Shri award, was also played, highlighting their impactful contributions.
Later, Dr Abhay turned a little emotional as he remembered his father, a Gold Medalist in Economics, who dedicated his life to rural service instead of travelling to the US for further education.
Dr Rani joined the conversation saying that the hospital founded by them has been designed to cater to the local community’s specific needs.
As things started turning all serious, Big B decided to make it light-hearted when he asked Dr Abhay about his favourite food. He responded by saying, “Joh Rani banati hai (whatever Rani cooks),” tickling the audience’s funny bones.
Rani added that she is originally from Telangana and cooks various dishes.
Dr Abhay went on to reveal that his cooking expertise is only limited to making tea. Big B interrupted to joke as he said, “Sir, aapko toh chai banana aata hai, humko toh sirf garam paani banana aata hai, aur kuch nahi aata (sir, you know how to make tea, I just know how to boil water, nothing else).”
This is not the first time that Amitabh Bachchan amazed the Internet with his witty statements on the show. A clip shared by the makers on Instagram shows a contestant Sakshi Panwar complimenting the veteran star for his looks. She said, “Sir, you are looking very handsome. I can’t take my eyes off you. Sir, you don’t need makeup. Sir, you are smelling really nice.”
Putting his wit to display, Amitabh Bachchan offered her a “chai” date with him as he said, “Leave the game, let’s go and have some tea, let’s take a stroll.”
