Ashnoor Kaur recently made her return to the TV with Colors show, Suman Indori. She was on a long hiatus.

After being on a break for nearly three years, actress Ashnoor Kaur has finally made her return to television with Suman Indori. Best known for her role in shows like Jhansi Ki Rani and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Ashnoor took a break to focus on her academics and did not take up any projects in these years. In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, the actress got candid and spoke about her new venture. She also highlighted how the television industry is misunderstood a lot.

Reflecting on her return to the sets after such a long period, Ashnoor said, “I feel people sometimes overexaggerate the issues working in TV. I believe every medium has its own set of pros and cons. I have been lucky enough to work with such houses that never extend their shifts beyond 12 hours. A lot depends on the production house that we work with.” She also added that things with LSD Films’ Suman Indori are pretty sorted for now.

Sharing her love for TV and her work, Ashoor Kaur shared, “I feel, I love working for TV. I love reaching the sets on time, shooting in front of the camera, getting exhausted, and hitting the bed. It is a very fulfilling thing, and I love the medium.”

During the conversation, the YRKKH star also drew comparisons between working for TV and OTT. Mentioning that she did a few projects for OTT in her break, Ashnoor added, “I faced the issue of shifts being extended, and so were the working hours. So, usually, they hire locations for a certain period, and the shoot needs to be completed in that time frame; thus, often, the shifts end up being extended. Whereas in TV, if shots are remaining, you can always shoot it the next day.”

Earlier in a conversation with ETimes, the actress revealed another reason behind her break from TV. Mentioning that she had been working from a very young age, Ashnoor didn’t want makers to have a child image of her in their minds. “To break that monotony, I had to step back. I feel everything was worth it—the fear that I was away from these long-term projects. Now that I am back with Suman Indori, I feel it is just as it should be,” she noted.
