Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for her next release – Ulajh. The espionage thriller, set to hit the theatres on August 2, will see the actress performing some high-octane stunts. Veteran stunt director Nick Powell was roped in to choreograph these action scenes. In a video shared by the makers on Instagram, the stunt director talked about training Janhvi for her action sequences.

“Janhvi is so feminine and making her do an action sequence and trying to make her look as someone who is punching people, hurting them, of course, because she is afraid and does not intend to hurt them deliberately was difficult,” Nick said in the video.

Nick Powell is known for his work in acclaimed international films like The Bourne Identity, Gladiator, and Tom Cruise starrer The Last Samurai.

The gripping trailer of Ulajh, offering cinephiles to enjoy a glimpse of the film, was released earlier this month. The National Award Winner Sudhanshu Saria’s directorial revolves around the high-stakes world of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers and diplomats. It features Janhvi Kapoor as Suhana Bhatia, a young diplomat who navigates the complexities of her job while being entangled in a treacherous personal conspiracy during a crucial assignment at the Indian Embassy in London.

Produced under the banner of Junglee Pictures, the film also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Tailang and Meiyang Chang in key roles. Parveez Shaikh and Sudhanshu Saria have written the film.

In a media interaction, Janhvi Kapoor shared her thoughts on the intense preparation for the film. She opined, “IFS officer training is more focused on diplomacy, maintaining international relations, and strategic thinking using words. Through Ulajh, I gained insight into the skill sets required to be an IFS officer. For my character Suhana in Ulajh, we kept this authenticity intact. While I didn’t undergo combat training, Nick Powell ensured that the essential action training went more in the zone and authentic for an IFS.”
