Munmun Dutta’s birthday party was all things glam. But fans missed Dilip Joshi’s Jethalal in the video.

Munmun Dutta, widely recognised as Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Babitaji, celebrated her birthday on the set of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She turned 36 today. This joyful occasion coincided with the night shoot for the Ganesh Chaturthi episode. Munmun Dutta on Instagram shared a video from her birthday celebration on the sets. Munmun’s co-stars joined her in the celebration. Along with the video, Munmun expressed her gratitude and thanked her fellow actors and crew members who made her day special. Her caption read, “And that’s how I started my birthday! Thanks to my team who made me do something that I seldom like to do and that’s cutting a cake on the set. Thanks to all my wonderful people on the set for being present and bringing in my birthday and being a part of this little celebration. Missed everyone who were not shooting today. [Party abhi baaki hain]”

Munmun added, “Lastly, I am grateful for this life, grateful for being Healthy, Happy, Alive and Prosperous. Blessed and humbled. And yes, Main Bilkul Apni Favourite Hoon.” Hope you got the Kareena Kapoor dialogue here. IYKYK!

Munmun’s birthday post was met with warm wishes from her colleagues and fans. One fan extended her birthday greetings and commented “Wishing you a very happy birthday, Munmun Madam.”

Taking a dig at the relationship between Munmun’s character and Dilip Joshi’s Jethalal, another said, “Where is Jetha Ji? He must be feeling bad as you have celebrated your birthday without him.”

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah or TMKOC is inspired by Tarak Mehta’s weekly column, Duniya Ne Undha Chasma, published in Chitralekha magazine. The show is under the production of Asit Kumarr Modi and made its debut on July 28, 2008. At present, it airs on the Sony SAB channel and is also accessible digitally on SonyLIV.

The storyline revolves around the Gokuldham Co-operative Housing Society, where residents hail from diverse backgrounds. This idyllic residential area is often affectionately referred to as a mini India or the 8th wonder, in the show. The residents of Gokuldham Society confront various problems and collectively find and implement solutions. The show occasionally also deals with various ongoing social issues in the country and society.

Typically, the episodes revolve around Jethalal, who frequently finds himself embroiled in dilemmas and troubles, and is often saved by his trusted confidant and friend, Taarak Mehta.
