India dominate top 10 of ICC Test rankings with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin | Cricket News


In the latest update of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test Rankings, batting legend Virat Kohli has ascended two places to eighth, while captain Rohit Sharma has dropped one spot to sixth. Another Indian, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has moved to seventh place.
England’s veteran batter Joe Root retains his position at the top, with teammate Harry Brook making a significant leap to fourth.This comes after his performances in the Test against Sri Lanka in Manchester.
In contrast, Pakistan’s Babar Azam has slipped six places to ninth, while his teammate Mohammad Rizwan has risen to a career-best tied-10th after his performance in Rawalpindi.
Babar dropped from a shared third spot, while Rizwan soared seven spots after achieving a career-high rating with his century in the Test against Bangladesh.
Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim also achieved a career-high ranking, climbing seven spots to 17th, after his century in the first Test against Pakistan.
Among the bowlers in Test cricket, India’s veteran offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin continues to dominate, maintaining the top position. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja hold their ground at third and seventh respectively.
England seamer Chris Woakes has moved up four places to 16th, and Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando has climbed 10 spots to 17th. Pakistani pacer Naseem Shah and England’s Gus Atkinson have both achieved career-best ratings, reaching 33rd and 42nd respectively.
Among all-rounders, Indian players remain dominant. Jadeja is at the top, followed by Ashwin, with Axar Patel ranked sixth.
