Former Karnataka CM DV Sadananda Gowda announces retirement from electoral politics | Hubballi News


HASSAN: Former Karnataka chief minister and Lok Sabha member DV Sadananda Gowda on Wednesday announced his retirement from electoral politics.
Speaking to reporters at Hassan, Gowda said it is time for him to hang his boots.
“Hence I have decided not to contest elections in future,” he stated.
Gowda said BJP has given everything to him and he was the number one beneficiary after former CM BS Yediyurappa.
“I served as a MLA for a decade and an MP for two decade. I was chief minister for one year and leader of the Opposition for one-and-a-half-years. I served as deputy leader of Opposition for five years and also worked as BJP state unit president for four-and-a-half-years. Besides, I was minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet for seven years,” Gowda said indicating that he has got everything from the party.
