Bombay high court is to hear a fresh petition filed on Friday by IRS officer Sameer Wankhede. The CBI has accused him in an alleged ₹25 crore extortion case over the arrest of actor Shah Rukh Khan‘s son Aryan Khan in 2021.
Wankhede’s plea says the CBI action against him is an act of revenge. An urgent hearing has been allowed by the vacation bench of the HC. On Thursday, Wankhede who was the former NCB Mumbai zone chief skipped the CBI summons after he was granted protection from arrest till May 22 by the Delhi high court .
The Delhi high court on May 17 granted Wankhede the liberty to approach the Bombay high court for further relief. In the Delhi high court, he also sought a cross-FIR against NCB deputy director-general.

IRS officer Sameer Wankhede moved before the court challenging the CBI FIR and seeking protection against any coercive action. He claimed that CAT had stay the NCB’s vigilance report, so the CBI can not register an FIR on the basis of the vigilance report.
Wankhede got relief from Bombay high court. The court asked CBI not to take any coercive action against Wankhede till May 22.
