Jiya Shankar recently made waves by sharing a no-filter post where she candidly addressed skin-related issues.
Jiya Shankar, who gained popularity on Bigg Boss OTT 2, continues to captivate her fans with her endearing personality. Recently, she uploaded a post on social media and shared that she goes makeup-free. Renowned for her striking appearance and impeccable style, Jiya Shankar’s choice to showcase her unfiltered self has ignited a dialogue about reshaping beauty norms in the entertainment realm. Accompanied by a makeup-free selfie, she wrote, “No makeup, no filter, and I absolutely love it.”
But it wasn’t just about flaunting her natural beauty. Jiya opened up about her skin issues including acne, scars, pigmentation, and dark circles. She wrote, “Idc (I don’t care) about your beauty standards. Yes, I’ve acne, acne scars, pigmentation, uneven skin tone, and dark circles (also a birthmark right in the middle of my forehead) and that’s what brown skin looks like for most of us! Don’t let anybody define beauty for you! You’re beautiful just the way you are.”
By candidly addressing her skin-related concerns, Jiya sparked attention to the reality behind the scenes and makeup.
Jiya Shankar garnered acclaim for her portrayal of Dr. Iravati Pandey in &TV’s beloved comedy-drama series, Meri Hanikarak Biwi, and as Susheela Ruhail Solanki in SAB TV’s popular comedy Kaatelal & Sons. Expanding her repertoire, she also served as a co-host on SAB TV’s Good Night India. However, it was her participation in the second season of Bigg Boss OTT that truly propelled her to stardom. Evicted just three days before the grand finale, she secured the 6th place, leaving a lasting impact on viewers.
Following her appearance on Bigg Boss OTT 2, Jiya has starred in several music videos. Notably, she starred alongside fellow Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant Abhishek Malhan in Tanveer Evan’s music video for Judaiyaan. Additionally, she featured in a music video alongside Harsh Beniwal for a song by Tulsi Kumar, Vishal Mishra, and Javed-Mohsin.
Besides her television endeavours, she has ventured into Marathi cinema with her appearance in the film Ved. The movie also featured Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza in pivotal roles.
