NEW DELHI: India faced consecutive defeats at the hands of the West Indies in the Twenty20 International (T20I) series, following their 2-1 victory in the one-day international (ODI) series.

The opening T20I slipped away from India’s grasp by a mere 4 runs, and the second match was lost by just 2 wickets.
As the crucial third T20I approaches, India find themselves on the brink of losing the series to the West Indies, a team that hasn’t qualified for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup in India.

Star opener Shubman Gill struggled to make an impact in both T20I matches so far, scoring only 7 (1st T20I) and 3 runs (2nd T20I), respectively.

Shubman’s opening partner Ishan Kishan managed 27 runs in the first match and 6 in the second.
Given the current form of these two batters and the series hanging in the balance, India might possibly make some changes to their top order.

The management might contemplate bringing the in-form Yashasvi Jaiswal into the playing XI. Yashasvi produced a stellar show during the Test series against the West Indies but is yet to make his debut in white-ball cricket.
Incidentally, Yashasvi has put up a selfie with Gill and Ishan in the changing room. The big question is which of these three will feature in India’s playing XI later today?
