NEW DELHI: Star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was released from the Indian ODI squad for the three-match series against Bangladesh, the BCCI said on Sunday.
BCCI, in a release, said Pant, who has played 31 Tests, 30 ODIs and 66 T20Is so far, will join the team ahead of the two-match Test series. The first Test between India and Bangladesh will be played on December 14 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
“In consultation with the BCCI Medical Team, Rishabh Pant has been released from the ODI squad. He will join the team ahead of the Test series. No replacement has been sought,” the BCCI said in a media release.

“Axar Patel was not available for selection for the first ODI,” the release further said.
Bangladesh captain Liton Das won the toss and elected to bowl against India in the first ODI of the three-match series in Dhaka.
