Vikram starrer mints Rs 12 crore

‘Cobra’ starring Vikram and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles is one of the most anticipated films of 2022 and it finally made it to the big screen on August 31. The movie’s release was celebrated on a grand level as it is the first film of the actor released in theatres in three years. The first show of the movie began at 4 am and the fans were frenzied over Vikram’s acting skills in the movie.

The movie in the first half of the day received all positive reviews and over time, it got mixed reviews from the audience and critics. It was initially estimated with pre-sales and ticket bookings that the movie will make an earning of two-digit crore on its day of release. According to reports, it is now stated that the movie has made a box office collection of Rs 12 crore in Tamil Nadu, and Rs 1.25 crore in Kerala. Reportedly, the film had a good opening in Malaysia as well and is at number 1 position there.

Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, ‘Cobra’ is an action thriller that has Vikram playing the role a math professor who is also the world’s number 1 assassin.

The cast includes Irfan Pathan, Mrinalini Ravi, Meenakshi Govindarajan, KS Ravikumar, Miya George, and Roshan Mathew. The music for the movie was composed by AR Rahman.

As the movie was not released in the UK yesterday, it is expected that the film have good reception there today and there is speculation that the film will mint at least Rs 9 crore globally on day 2.
