‘Vaishali Takkar’s neighbour Rahul harassed her,’ police reports new development in the actress’ suicide case

On Sunday in Indore, Television actress Vaishali Takkar died by suicide. The 30-year-old actress, who made her acting debut with “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,” was found hanging in home, according to police, and claimed in a note that she was being harassed by a former partner.

In a new development, Indore ACP Rahman has stated that her neighbour is also considered a suspect and he was harassing Vaishali, “Her (TV actor Vaishali Takkar) e-gadgets will be probed. Her neighbour Rahul harassed her, because of whom she took this extreme step. She was about to get married to another man, but he hindered that too. Rahul is absconding; search on to nab him.”

Late on Sunday night, RD Kanwa, the head of the Tejaji Nagar police station, stated: “From her room, we have retrieved a five-page message that was kept in a tiny diary. We’re checking the content of it. She mentioned a former partner and claimed he was bothering her. She claimed that neither would he marry her nor would he permit her to wed anybody else. The ex-boyfriend is married and has two children.”

“An iPhone, iPad, and other items have been seized from her house,” claimed Kanwa, who added that the ex-boyfriend has not yet been the subject of a case. Kanwa declared, “We have summoned him for questioning.”

On Saturday night, Vaishali’s brother found her hanging in her room. She was taken to a hospital, but the moment the physicians arrived, they pronounced her dead. On Sunday afternoon, her family had her cremated after the police had sent her remains for a postmortem.

Rohan Mehra, who had worked with Vaishali in Yeh Rishta, told ETimes TV, she had anxiety issues, suicidal thoughts but that was long back, she was seeing a doctor.

In an exclusive interview with BT, Vaishali’s friends’ actor Vikas Sethi and his wife Jhanvi Rana revealed that the actress was all set to get married by December and she had plans to come to Mumbai post-Diwali for her wedding shopping. Vaishali was set to tie the knot with a software engineer based in California in December.
