Sunil Grover Says His Series ‘Sunflower’ Has Tapped A New Genre Of Thriller: ‘This Is One Of A Kind…’

Sunil Grover was recently seen in Sunflower S2.

Sunil Grover opened up about the latest season of Vikas Bahl’s show Sunflower.

Sunil Grover’s highly anticipated second season of Sunflower was released recently and it has received rave reviews. Building on the immense success and excitement generated by the first season, also featuring Adah Sharma,Ashish Vidyarthi, Ranvir Shorey, Mukul Chaddha, and Girish Kulkarni, the second season took the bizarre plot forward. Recently, Sunil Grover got candid about the USP of Sunflower.

The actor shared, “It’s the writer, the director and the creator who made this show special. The credit goes to Vikas Bahl, Navin (our director), Chaitali and so many other people, who are associated with the great cast and crew of the show. I think the Sunflower has tapped in a new genre of thriller through its writing. The series makes people laugh throughout and keeps them engaged with its exciting and thrilling storyline. It is a beautifully written show.”

When asked how his show compares with other crime thrillers, he stated, “I haven’t seen many crime thrillers but I think this kind of genre is being explored in India for the first time. Since I have not watched any other shows, there is no comparison in my head. This is one of a kind show for me.’

Elaborating more about the second season, Sunil Grover added, “People want so many answers from S2. In S1, characters were being established, and now the audience already knows the characters very well. While there are a few new characters entering this season, the show will move fast and a lot of questions that audience have been waiting to get answers of will be addressed in this season as the series unfolds.”

The actor also revealed whether he improvises with his characters, “Whenever there is a room, I suggest it to the director. So, if they like it they keep it and if they don’t then they say no,” he shared.

The News18 Showsha review of Sunflower reads, “In the end, Vikas Bahl’s Sunflower Season 2 is a bland recipe that could have used more salt, especially when the first season felt like a 7-course meal due to an interesting premise and quirky characters. Having said that, the new season isn’t all bad and it certainly is filled with moments throughout the course of eight episodes that will entertain you and invest you. But as a whole, it couldn’t match up to the brilliance of the first season. All eyes are on Season 3 now as the show concludes on a gripping cliffhanger.”
