Bigg Boss 17 reached an exciting climax on January 28, with standup comedian Munawar Faruqui emerging as the winner of the season. The runner up position went to Abhishek Kumar, followed by Mannara Chopra securing the 3rd spot, Ankita Lokhande at number 4 and Arun Mashetty claimed the 5th position. Adding to the celebrations, it was a double delight for Munawar as he celebrated his 32nd birthday on the same day. The comedian marked the special occasion by sharing the victory with close friends on set, as he was joined by former Bigg Boss winner and rapper MC Stan, along with music producer Raghav Sharma. The trio proudly posed together with the winner’s trophy, capturing the attention of fans.
In the picture, Munawar looked stylish in black and white outfit adorned with chains, while MC Stan showed his swag in his signature style and attire. Stan had been a loyal supporter of the comedian throughout the season, while Munawar was often seen cheering for the rapper, when he participated in Bigg Boss 16. Despite expectations leaning towards Ankita Lokhande or Abhishek Kumar winning the BB17 trophy, Munawar, known for his strategic gameplay, came out as the winner due to his strong support from both his fans and industry friends.
After spending 105 days inside the Bigg Boss 17 house, Munawar Faruqui defeated his best friend and actor Abhishek Kumar along with 15 other contestants. Shortly after winning the show, he shared his excitement on Instagram by posting his first photo with the prestigious trophy alongside the show’s host, Salman Khan. Sharing the picture, the stand-up comedian wrote, “Thank you very much, everyone, for your love and support. Finally, the trophy has arrived in Dongri. Special thanks to Big Brother Salman Khan Sir for all your guidance.”
Speaking to The Indian Express after his win, Munawar Faruqui said, “The feeling was unreal, the way my journey has been, that moment was such that I could feel the weight of that trophy. This trophy has cost me a lot, but it is worth it. In the end, what was important was not just taking the trophy home, but a lot many things. I was not okay with my personal life being dragged on the show to this extent. But things were not in my control. It was a situation I did not want to face, but I had no option. I am not proud of anything I did, but I have to move on and make things better now. I have been through a lot of mental breakdowns, there was not a single day that I have not cried under the blanket or in the bathroom. I felt very helpless, mentally too I was affected. But I will have to face it.”
Along with the trophy, Munawar took home Rs 50 lakh prize and a Hyundai Creta.
