Imlie Actor Sai Ketan Rao Was Once Slapped By Co-Star Shivangi Khedkar On Set; Here’s Why

Sai Ketan Rao has been recently dominating headlines as rumours were rife that he is leaving the popular Star Plus show Imlie. He plays the lead role of Agastya in the show opposite Adrija Roy. According to the current track of the show, Sai Ketan Rao’s character will soon die. While fans speculated that the actor is quitting, the promo laid such rumours to rest which shows his comeback as a new character. Amid this, an incident from his first co-star, Shivangi Khedkar surfaced.

A report by Pinkvilla quoted Shivangi Khedkar from an old interview narrating an incident where she slapped Sai Ketan Rao. Shivangi Khedkar and Sai Ketan Rao co-starred in the TV serial Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali, with Sai as Raghav and Shivangi as Pallavi. The actress talked about slapping Sai Ketan Rao during a scene they were shooting. She explained that in that sequence, her character was supposed to slap him. Sai, like many performers, expected a staged slap, but when the shooting began, the actress truly hit Sai, taking the actor by surprise. Shivangi recalled Sai’s astonished expression, and they both laughed heartily over that scene.

Sai Ketan Rao received tremendous accolades for his role as Raghav in the daily soap. Despite the fact that the show aired for a year, Sai continued to garner a lot of appreciation from viewers.

Meanwhile, putting an end to rumours about him leaving his current show, Imlie. Speaking to ETimes, he said, “It is true that Agastya gets killed in the show, but I haven’t exited the show. I will have a powerful entry in the show after they show Agastya’s death. I am playing a double role and will come back in the show as Agastya’s brother. My entry is planned in a fantastic way. My character will be called Surya Pratap Reddy.”

The latest promo for Imlie also depicts Adrija Roy as distraught and broken following Agastya’s death. She goes to the market to have a picture of herself and Agastya framed. Unfortunately, a thug steals her cell phone. And this is when Sai’s new character, Inspector Surya Pratap Reddy, makes his spectacular appearance. Surya pursues the thief and manages to recover Imlie’s phone. Surya’s sophisticated flair creates an exciting atmosphere. Imlie is taken aback when she sees Surya, who appears identical like Agastya.
