The BJP leader went on to say that mere change of name will not make the opposition alliance credible and drew an analogy between the banned radical organisation SIMI and the opposition grouping.
“SIMI was a radical organisation. Its officials regrouped under a different banner, when it was banned … but regrouping under a different banner didn’t change the character of the members and that new organisation too, was eventually banned,” Amit Malviya said in a tweet.
“Similarly, UPA had become synonymous with corruption and regressive politics. The same players, now regrouping under a different name, won’t make them any more credible. People will banish them to boondocks, again,” he said.
Accusing the opposition parties of coming together to save their shrinking turfs, the BJP leader said, “In 2024, country will elect Prime Minister Modi, the leader … The future of our country is too precious to be risked with one of the self serving, corrupt, dynastic parties.”
Calling the opposition camp a circus, Malviya also took a dig at the opposition parties for taking credit over the new name.
Malviya tweeted: “Every party is planting news with media on how their leader had a role in the new name. RJD upstaged the formal announcement and tweeted, to find later that the name had been changed. There is also a rush to take credit for who bought AAP and Congress together, Nitish or Mamata?
“If this is the extent of credit seeking, imagine the rent seeking, if they ever came to power. This alliance is a joke!”
