Bigg Boss 17: Munawar Faruqui Opens Up About His Mother’s Death

Bigg Boss 17 hosted by Salman Khan has been entertaining viewers since its inception on October 15. Over the past few weeks, the audience has witnessed umpteen fights among the contestants, with the main highlight being Ankita Lokhande and her husband Vicky Jain. Amidst all the tasks and drama inside the BB House, the contestants have set their target on one thing — lifting the coveted trophy. Now, there has been another new revelation inside the Bigg Boss premises made by Munawar Faruqui. On the recent Shukravaar Ka Vaar episode on December 1, Munawar opened up about his mother’s “death by suicide” when he was just 13 years old.

Munawar Faruqui shared some anecdotes about his early days in life with fellow contestants and his friends Neil Bhatt, Aishwarya Sharma, and Rinku Dhawan. During the conversation, when Rinku wanted to know the reason behind Munawar’s mother taking her own life, the comedian-rapper revealed that it was because of a number of reasons. More specifically, he revealed it was due to an “unhappy married life and being overburdened with debt.”

“Unhappy married life was there, plus karza uss waqt. Dad pe bahut karza tha. Meri mom pe bhi karza tha. It was like humiliating wo time pe (Lots of reasons. Besides unhappy married life, there was a loan. Dad had a lot of debt. My mother also had a loan. That time, it was kind of humiliating),” said Munawar Faruqui. Continuing, the 31-year-old said that the debt on the family was so much that he was forced to leave school and go to work instead. Munawar added that although the loan was just three and a half thousand rupees, it felt like a huge sum to pay at that time.

Speaking about his food habits when they were not so well-off, Munawar Faruqui disclosed that during his childhood days, he used to eat only chapatis with dry, spicy daal. “Toh wo matlab dopahar ka lunch hota tha ( It used to be my lunch)” he said. Elaborating on the same topic, Munawar told his BB House friends that if salan rice was prepared in their house for dinner, there would not be a third food item.

Meanwhile, in a shocking round of elimination Sunny Arya, better known as Tehelka was evicted by the Bigg Boss for physically assaulting fellow participant Abhishek Kumar. Bigg Boss premieres on Colors TV from 9 pm.
